Specialist systems integrator Delkia has signed the lease for an additional manufacturing unit in Haydock, Lancashire, which will be opening April 2025. The new Power and Propulsion Centre of Excellence will support the company’s growing order book and specialise in large-scale production, testing, and assembly of power propulsion systems. The facility will also have the capability to manage complex projects, such as glovebox control systems. The project is expected to create over twenty new jobs across Delkia in 2025.
Currently, Delkia operates across three sites. The addition of the Haydock facility will allow Delkia to realign the capabilities of each location to better meet customer needs:
Industrial Automation and Operational Technology (OT), Egremont, Cumbria: Focuses on process control systems for the nuclear industry, serving clients such as Sellafield and other nuclear operators.
Engineering Design and Client Collaboration, Westlakes Science & Technology Park, Cumbria: Specialises in engineering design and client partnerships.
Training and Development Centre, Preston: Home to Delkia’s R&D team and the hub for internal and external training programmes on systems integration, advanced design tools, and innovation.
Power and Propulsion Centre of Excellence, Haydock: Dedicated to power and propulsion system production and testing, this modern industrial unit is less than a mile from the M6.
“This strategic realignment of our sites reflects our unwavering commitment to innovation,
sustainability, and excellence. We are proud to invest in the future of engineering and technology while empowering the communities where we operate,” said Kurt Canfield, CEO of Delkia.
Delkia’s growing order book will generate increased employment opportunities in engineering, technology, and support roles across all locations. This expansion will contribute to economic growth in the region, while further establishing Delkia as a leader in innovative engineering and technology solutions. The new Haydock site will also bring Delkia closer to key stakeholders and strategic partners, fostering collaboration with industry, government agencies, and academic institutions.
